Artist Statement
I have chosen pastel for the fun, richness and creamy feel of the pastels and the challenges of the medium. I am influenced by the bold colors of the Impressionists with their abilities to capture the essence of light, texture and intimacy in their paintings. It excites me to see how light bounces, radiates, shines, reflects an array of colors and patterns everywhere. I enjoy creating scenes, places or moments where people might find visual pleasure and a desire to be in my paintings. Through my work I capture these feelings through texture, color, fields of color and subject matter.
It is my hope that you find one painting that you can walk in to and find something in it meaningful to you.
